Who would you propose to be the next ATF Director?
By - Noone_Is_Me
No one, disband the ATF.
This really is the only real good answer.
What purpose does the ATF actually serve as a benefit to America?
You...god dammit lol
Man that would be the dream and his background and credentials would certainly match.
Someone that recognizes that alcohol and tobacco kill far more people than firearms and is willing to focus the agency accordingly.
Alcohol and tobacco are legal, we don't need an agency for that.
What we need to do is get rid of the atf.
That agency is the TTB. ATF hasn't had much to do with alcohol and tobacco since 2003.
So even less reason for it to exist.
Firearms are not legal?
Really? Of course they are. I was directly addressing your comment about alcohol and tobacco.
My point is if the ATF exists to protect us why don't they focus more energy on alcohol and tobacco as they kill more people? They won't because they are not there to protect us they are there to reguster and take away guns.
Alcohol and tobacco haven't been ATF's responsibility for almost 20 years. They are handled by the Tax and Trade Bureau (ttb.gov).
ATF only focuses on firearms and explosives, nothing else.
Vermin Supreme. He'll take our guns and give us better guns.
I like my guns. Even the bad ones.
I'll gladly take the better ones, too, though.
I have a few I wouldn't mind trading for better ones
Me. I will enact a ton of gun laws.
For example, every household must have at least 2 fully automatic weapons and own at least 5 noise suppression devices.
Name one good reason for the ATF to be separate from the FBI.
They used to fall under the department of Treasury because the point was that they enforced taxes, that made sense to a degree. Now they they are just a part of the DOJ, might as well integrate the office with the existing federal law enforcement department.
Might as well move the DEA over while we are at it.
A bag of Doritos
Ryan or Colion Noir.
Me. I’ll do right by y’all. I’ll just reinterpret the legal definitions of suppressors, SBRs and machine guns beyond all recognition (as is the precedent for that agency), and let you all have fun.
922(o) exempts machine guns transferred under the authority of a government agency right? Sounds to me like a Form 1/4 with an ATF signature constitutes a transfer under the authority of the ATF...
As new head of the ATF, I will form a new department and hire hundreds of new agents whose sole job is to sign those forms, with a mandated turnaround time of 72 hours or less.
My dream ATF candidate. Someone who is for ever adult American having the right to drink, smoke, and have whatever arms they want. Someone who won't sell guns to cartels. Someone who will get products recalled that are abnormally dangerous: Taurus shake fire, cigarettes with stuff that is not tobacco or safe flavorings, alcohol with too much methanol in it, etc.
Oh... you mean the AFT
